Symphonia Ep. 1 and 2 - Patch Notes

With Symphonia Episode 1 and 2 fast approaching, I wanted to prepare a little bit about the changes coming. I would complain about the format of which they give out the patch notes but I think they deserve some credit with actually bothering with the patch notes. Instead, I decided to format the patch note myself and in a more digestible form, reordering by importance, changed some grammar and corrected some typo.

New Contents
  • Character
    1. A new recruit character, Amy and a new promotional character, Cadet Amy, will be added.
      • When equipped with a "Magic Scroll" weapon type, Amy can use [Imperial Tactics] stance.
      • The [Imperial Tactics] stance ring and skill ring will be added to "Stance Ring Box" and "Chester’s Ring Box".
      • The skill ring of "Amy", "Field Manual Ring", will be added to "Chester’s Ring Box".
      • A separate job skill ring is not required for "Cadet Amy".
    2. A new promotional character, Juliana, will be added.
      • Juliana can use [Sacred Bullet] stance when equipped with a pistol (right hand) and a rosario (left hand).
      • The [Sacred Bullet] stance ring and skill ring will be added to the "Stance Ring Box" and the "Veiren's Ring Box".
      • A separate job skill ring is not required for "Juliana".
      • Using the <Spica> skill of the [Sacred Bullet] stance activates the "Casting (Charged)" state and clicking the skill one more time casts the spell.
    3. A new character, Neo, will be added in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the game.
      • When equipped with sword + bracelet (special, attribute), Neo can use [Istion] stance.
      • The [Istion] stance ring and skill ring will be added to the "Stance Ring Box" and "Richard’s Ring Box".
      • Neo’s job skill ring, "Reditum Ring", will be added to "Richard’s Ring Box".
      • The "Neo" character can be created at the Barracks without a separate character card.
      • A player may own only a single "Neo" character.
      • The "Neo" character cannot be contracted with a "Mercenary Contract".
    4. A new recruitment character, Dietrich and a new promotional character, Consul Dietrich, will be added.
      • When equipped with a "Sword" weapon type, Dietrich can use [Pretensis] stance.
      • The [Pretensis] stance ring and skill ring will be added to "Stance Ring Box" and "Richard’s Ring Box".
      • The "Dietrich" character’s job skill ring, "Viertus Ring", will be added to "Richard’s Ring Box".
      • A separate job skill ring is not required for "Consul Dietrich".
    5. A new promotional character, Vanessa, will be added.
      • When equipped with a "Saber" weapon type, Vanessa can use [Las Guard] stance.
      • The [Las Guard] stance ring and skill ring will be added to "Stance Ring Box" and "Richard’s Ring Box".
      • A separate job skill ring is not required for "Vanessa".
  • Location
    1. A new town, Cite de Bedel, will be added.
      • The town can be accessed through "Bedel Plains".
      • The town is available for warp save.
      • The deposit rate of "Armonia" applies to the town.
    2. A new area, Bedel Plains, will be added.
      • The area can be accessed through "Armonia, Latina".
      • The area is available for warp saving and quest warping.
      • The area is available for auto reporting.
      • Battle is allowed in the area.
    3. A new area, Vernier Mansion, Entryway, will be added.
      • Battle is allowed in the area.
      • You can move to the area through warp save and warp gate.
      • You can only use a warp gate if you have entered the area before.
    4. A new area, Vernier Mansion, 1st Floor, will be added.
      • Battle is allowed in the area.
      • You cannot move to the area through warp save and warp gate.
      • Defeating monsters in the area has a certain chance of dropping "Dark Shadow Mark, G" and "Dark Shadow Mark, D" items.
      • Defeating regular monsters in the area has a very low chance of creating a warp gate.
      • The warp gate would take players to an area where "General Deus Machina" spawns.
      • The warp gate disappears after about 20 seconds.
    5. A new area, Vernier Mansion, 2nd Floor, will be added.
      • The area is accessible from "Vernier Mansion, 1st Floor".
      • The area is not available for warp save.
      • The area is not available for continuing from the previous starting point.
  • Quest
    1. A new scenario quest, Illier 1st Scenario, will be added.
      • The quest mail will appear when you enter town after completing "[Leader of New Age] Leona Vernier" and recruitment quest of "Marchetti".
      • If a family who completed the recruitment quest of "Marcetti" completes "[Leader of New Age] Leona Vernier", the above quest is automatically added to the quest list.
    2. The recruitment quest for Amy Shausen will be added.
      • The quest will be automatically added to the quest list upon completing "Illier" scenario quest.
    3. The Cherlyn Recruitment Quest will be added.
      • The quest will be automatically added to the quest list when entering a town after completing "Viki Recruitment Quest" and "[Judgment Day] End of Montoro".
      • The "Witch Craft" obtainment quest will be added to the quest list after "Cherlyn Recruitment Quest".
      • A family carrying out the quest may proceed with the quest regardless of the change.
      • [Cherlyn] Card" and [Cherlyn] Card (Event) will be removed from obtainable rewards list for the following reward box:

    4. A new scenario quest, Illier 2nd Scenario, will be added.

      • A family who already completed "[Noblesse Oblige] Dark Shadow (2)" will receive the "Illier 2nd Scenario" when they enter a town.
    5. The recruitment quest for Dietrich Herbert will be added.
      • The quest will be automatically added to the quest list upon completing "[Die is Cast]" of "Illier 2nd Scenario".
    6. Repeatable quests will be added to Bedel.
      • After completing the "Illier 1st Scenario" quests, the "Evora" camp quest and the "Patrichion" camp quest will be automatically added to the quest list upon entering "Bedel".
      • Selecting a camp prevents proceeding with the other camp’s quest.
      • After completing the quest of the selected camp, the player can choose a camp again.
      • Completing the quests for either camp rewards the player with Favor Rate and "Mission Certificate" items.
      • Raising the Favor Rate of a camp will lower the friendship level of the other camp.
      • The quests can be done for unlimited times and may be restarted after completing them.
      • A higher Favor Rate will result in better rewards.
    7. The Valeria Vendetta Recruitment Quest will be added.
      • The quest will be automatically added to the quest list upon entering a town after completing "Valeria" and "Marchetti" recruitment quests.
      • The "Valeria" NPC will be at "Auch, Villa de Libertad".
      • The "Valeria Vendetta" NPC will be at "Joaquin, Torture Chamber".
      • [Valeria Vendetta] Card" and [Valeria Vendetta] Card (Event) items will be removed from the list of obtainable items from the following Reward Boxes.

    9. Raise the Favor Rate for five division of "Kielce" to 10,000 each, to obtain [Sniper Bernelli] Card.
      • [Sniper Bernelli] Card and [Sniper Bernelli] Card (Event) have been removed from obtainable rewards list for the following reward box:

    1. The Skill Stack Effect notice function will be added.
      • The skill icon glows in red to notify the n-th stack effect.

  • Equipment
    1. Twenty six Elite Constellation weapon series (Grade 35) will be added.
      • The new items can be purchased from the "Arfe Valeron" NPC upon completing the "[Noblesse Oblige] Dark Shadow (2)" quest.
      • You can get the "Recipe - Elite Constellation" series upon completing the required quests.
      • The "Enchant Scroll" items for the series will be available at the "Enchant Merchant, Ana’s Enchantment Scroll Shop" NPC.
      • The "Elite Constellation Weapon" series will be added to the "Grade 35 Weapon Box (Event)".
      • The series may be enchanted by "Enchant Chip Expert".
      • The related ingredients will be added.
    2. A new item, Recipe - Talos Ring, will be added.
      • The "Talos’ Ring" grants "ATK Rating +1" and "Penetration +2" when equipped.
      • The recipe has a very low chance of being dropped during the "Talos" mission at master level or above.
    3. New accessory series, Zodiac, will be added.
      • You have a chance of obtaining the recipe during the "Talos" and "Auto Baron T" raids.

      • Wearing the costume changes the normal and skill attack effects for the characters above except for "Snowflake Montoro".
      • You can purchase a "Polar Bear Costume" from the dressing room for 900,000 Fesos.
    6. A new costume, Sky Blue Costume, will be added.
      • The costume can be worn by "Juliana".
      • Equipping the costume changes the graphic effect of the <Sirma> skill.
      • The "Sky Blue Costume" will be added to the dressing room.
    7. A new hat costume, Vanessa Purple Hat, will be added.
      • You can purchase the item at the dressing room.
      • It can only be equipped by "Vanessa".
    8. New costumes, Leona School Look and Judith School Look, will be added.
      • The "Leona School Look" item can be worn by "Leona Bernier" and "Code Name L".
      • The "Judith School Look" item can be worn by "Judith" and "Empyrium Judith".
      • The items above are not sold at the dressing room.
    9. A new medal item, Student Council, will be added.
      • It is permanent and can be obtained from an event.
      • It grants "Movement Speed +2%" and "Immunity +2".
  • Item
    1. A new item, Magic Enchant Sedative, will be added.
      • The item eliminates any chance of enchantment failure and triples the chance for getting a rare option.
    2. A new item, Weapon Costume Coupon, will be added.
      • The coupon may be exchanged with one of the following weapon costume series: Abyss, Tyrant, Jewel and Angel.
    3. A new item, Additional Reward Coupon, will be added.
      • When attempting to obtain additional reward from "Mission Reward Box" (aka. Roulette Box), you can use the coupon instead of vis.
      • With the Mission Reward UI activated, check/uncheck the box on the right bottom to choose whether "Vis" or "Additional Reward Coupon" will be used for payment. (Default: "Vis")
      • The box needs to be checked for each reward UI.
      • With the Mission Reward UI activated, the reward button/check box of the other families will not be displayed.
    4. Costume Merchant, Joanna NPC will now sell the following new costume recipes.
      • "Recipe - Castilla’s Fate Costume"
      • "Recipe - Strata Devil Costume"

      • Cortes spawns regardless of colony status.
    2. A new boss monster, Talos, will be added to the new area Bedel Plains.
      • Talos will spawn after the routine maintenance.
      • It activates everyday from 18:00 to 24:00 and is sealed for the rest of the day.
      • When Talos is sealed, all families in the zone will be transported to Bedel.
      • Defeating Talos has a certain chance of dropping Santo De Blanc, Santuario Metal Armor Recipe and Armonia Accessory Recipe.
      • Once defeated, Talos will spawn after the next routine maintenance.
    3. Five new monster types will be added.
      • The new monsters spawn at Bedel Plains.
    4. The Talos Mission will be added.
      • You can play the mission at three difficult levels: "Expert", "Master" and "High Master".
      • You have a chance to play the mission once for free per day.
      • After the first play through, you can repeat the mission by paying a "Mission Certificate, Evora".
      • The mission is repeatable.
      • The "Continue Mission" function can be used in this mission.
      • A higher difficulty level will increase the AI level of Talos monsters.
      • The difficulty level and rewards are adjusted depending on the number of participating family.
    5. A new boss monster, Auto Baron T, will be added.
      • The monster spawns at 18:00 every Saturday in "Vernier Mansion, 2nd Floor" on a sealed state.
      • The monster spawns first upon opening of the server but is not affected by server maintenance or server reset.
      • Then, it is generated at 18:00 every Saturday after the first generated monster is defeated between Sunday and Friday.
      • The spawn time may differ depending on the server status.
      • After clicking the "Power Source" NPC in the "Sky Garden" between 18:00 and 24:00, you can use the "Lever" to awaken the "Auto Baron T" monster.
      • After 24 hours of "Battle" or "Non-Battle" status, the monster is removed and spawned on a sealed state.
    6. A new faction mission, Disaster on the Plains, will be added.
      • You can play the mission by selecting it at the Faction Mission tab of the Faction UI (Alt + Y).
      • You can play the mission at any of the following difficulty levels: "General", "Veteran", "Expert", "Master" and "High Master". (Default: Expert)
      • To complete the mission, you have to defeat 10 "Hungry Monsters".
      • Defeating regular monsters within the mission area displays the current location of undefeated "Hungry Monsters".
      • The mission has 7 days cooldown after completion.
  • Music
    1. The following background music will be added: Crimson Army and Vedel Birno.
    2. A new background music, Esperas will be added.
  • Interface
    1. A new barrack [Barrack 19th] will be added.
      • You can expand your barrack slots for 5 pcs. "Barrack Slot License" items per slot by talking to the public official NPC of the town.
    2. The Damage Meter function will be added.
      • The function can be used against Scarecrow monsters in "Thueringen Lakeside".
      • Pressing the "+" button on the top left of the Target Information UI displays the Damage Information UI for the targeted monster.
    3. The General Information Center (Ctrl + M) will be added.
      • The "Item Search" function will be added.
      • The "Illustrated Character Book", "Mission Information Center" and "Total Quest List" will be merged with the "Item Search" function.
      1. Item Search
        • Search items by ATK/DEF ratings, types and levels.
        • When searching for armors and weapons, press the "->" button on the right side of the UI to check the item requirements for enhancement and enchantment, including possible stat changes granted by enchantment.
        • Item types will divided further.
      2. Illustrated Character Book
        • The "Character Search" function will be added.
      3. Total Quest List
        • Clicking the "Total Quest List" button in the Quest Information UI will now allow you to check the list without exiting the current UI.
        • Hovering the cursor over a quest item will now display which monsters drop the item.
    4. New Favor Rate Evora and Patrichion will be added.
      • You can check for the rate from the Favor Rate tab of the family information (Alt + R).
      • Completing repeatable quests in "Bedel" will increase the favor rate.

      • Promoting basic characters (including Neo) to a "High Master" will no longer require "Shiny Crystal".

  • Stance
    1. Linear skills (Ice Vrille, etc.) will be changed and modified as follows:
      • A linear skill can now damage characters or monsters on terrains with height differences.
      • (Eg. During the Uraeus mission, you can now attack Uraeus with a linear skill.)
      • Fixed a problem wherein a linear skill did not deal damage under certain circumstances.
    2. Some skills of the [Imperial Tactics] stance will be modified as follows:
      • Fixed a problem wherein buffs apply to characters unable to move.
      • Fixed a problem wherein positive buffs apply to monsters under certain circumstances.
      • When using the <Operation: A/P/O> skill, the chance of effect will be adjusted in proportion to the ATK Rating and INT of the caster.
      • Fixed a problem wherein buffs do not apply in certain cases.
    3. The [Minerva] buff will now be deactivated when changing stance. ([Sacred Bullet] Stance)
    4. Using the <Spica> skill will no longer lower the level of the [Minerva] buff. ([Sacred Bullet] Stance)
    5. The following expert stances will now be automatically learned by basic characters (other than Neo) when they are promoted to expert level:

      1. "World Cross PVP" shop and "Clique Battle" shop were merged.

        • A normal monster gives Contribution points to the player who defeated it.
        • A boss monster gives Contribution points to the family that dealt the highest accumulated damage.
        • Boss monsters give more Contribution points than normal monsters.
        • Contribution points acquired from defeating a monster increases in proportion to the monster’s HP, ATK Rating and DEF Rating.
        • Activating "Home Premium Services" increases the earned Contribution points by 10%.
        • Contribution points are not given during missions, World Cross PVP, Rumble Fight and in "Tierra de La Sed" area.
      2. The Pioneering Merchant Ranking menu will be added to the Hall of Fame.
        • The ranking is determined based on accumulated Contribution points, during the first routine maintenance of each month.
        • The ranking is divided into 8 grades, from F to SSS.
        • Merchant Purchasing Points will be provided accordingly when the ranking is determined.
        • Different discount rates apply, depending on classes.

    6. Fixed a problem wherein wrong monsters are generated after defeating the "Weird Egg" monsters in "Bahamar, Marshland" and the "Angry Dinosaur Egg" monsters in the "Ustiur Jungle, Zone 4" during the "[Noblesse Oblige] Wind is Coming" quest.
    7. Fixed a problem wherein using quest warp during "Calyce" recruitment quest transports the player to a wrong location.
    8. Fixed a problem wherein some daily quests in "Armonia" were not correctly displayed in the quest information window.

      • Fixed a problem wherein some codes were displayed in the dialogue between Patrick during the recruitment quest.
